Chris Gabrielli out of Corvallis sent me this update on the class five section Canyon Creek Oregon. There has been a large slide that has pretty much wiped out the rapid known as Day of Judgement.

Chris says: "Jason, It's really hard to tell how big the main boulder is from the pictures, the best picture to get an idea of the size of it is the one which shows the entire upriver section - that's when you realize that the boulder is as wide as the entire riverbed and is about 30 feet tall. The slide is still very active, a good rain will put a lot more stuff into the river, and with any luck it'll clog up all the newly formed sieves and we'll have a good rapid in a few years?!? - maybe!!

Just thought it might also be good to know that the Forest Service posted a map with a detour around the slide ( at the take out of the lower section where the road starts ) so the upper section is still accessible, its just a round about way to get there ( also is conducive to bike shuttle now since you can still bike over the slide ).
